Each year the tasting panel at Wine & Spirits Magazine evaluates 12,500+ wines from around the world. The wineries with the highest overall rated wines are honored. Amongst the Top 100 for 2014 is Vivanco, one of only four Spanish wineries to land on the exclusive list.
Publisher and editor, Joshua Greene, recognized the work of Rafael Vivanco and his team who have spent years reviving indigenous varieties that had fallen out of favor amongst La Rioja growers. Their efforts have proven successful as Vivanco is releasing some of the boldest wines in the region from their 300 hectares of estate-owned vineyards bottled until their Colección label. Vivanco is producing “sincere wines with personality” regularly ranking amongst the “Year’s Best” with 90+ points.
