This second label by notable Emilia-Romagna producer, Umberto Cesari, produces an excellent value Sangiovese from the local strain. Sangiovese di Romagna produces a fruit-forward, varietally-correct, easy-drinking wine.
Fruit is sourced from fine hillside vineyards under long-term lease noted for quality, stretching east from Bologna towards the shores of Rimini. Il Poggio is vinified entirely in stainless steel and minimally aged to ensure maximum fruit expression and varietal characteristics, without the influence of oak.
