Amaro

Meletti Amaro is produced according to a secret family recipe that originated at the turn of the century.  This remarkable blend of aromatic fruits, herbs, and spices creates a perfectly balanced digestivo that is neither overly bitter, nor overly sweet.  Amaro is traditionally enjoyed on its own after a meal, but the intoxicating aromas and flavors of sweet orange peel and bitter genziana root, a plant local Le Marche, along with notes of cloves, add a unique component to cocktails.

Deep mahogany wood color. The nose is rich and pronounced, filled with a myriad of aromas. Roasted hazelnuts, sassafras, root beer, sage, rosemary, and cherry syrup come to mind. The finish is sweet but balanced by a slight bitterness.

69 Holland

1 oz Genever

1 oz Plymouth Gin

.75 oz Meletti Amaro

.5 oz Amontillado Sherry

2 dashes peach bitters

Grapefruit peel

 

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled coupe. Express grapefruit peel and discard.


Amaro Flip

2 oz Meletti Amaro

.75 oz fresh lemon juice

.5 oz rich simple syrup 2:1

1 whole egg

 

Add all ingredients into shaker, dry shake, then shake with ice. Double strain into a lowball glass without ice.


Amaro Sour

1.5 oz Meletti Amaro

.75 oz Bourbon

1 oz lemon juice

.25 oz simple syrup

1 egg white

 

Combine all ingredients in shaker without ice. Shake hard for 10 seconds to incorporate egg white. Add ice and shake until chilled. Double strain into a double rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a cocktail cherry and lemon twist.


Americano

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz Meletti 1870 Aperitivo

Club soda

 

Add first two ingredients to a highball glass with ice. Top with club soda and garnish with orange wedge.


Ascoli Negroni

• 1 oz Botanical Gin
• 1 oz Meletti Amaro
• 1 oz Meletti 1870
• 3 dashes orange bitters

Stir with ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange twist.


Bitter Sweet

2 oz gin

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz fresh orange juice

.5 oz dry vermouth

 

Shake with ice and strain into a highball with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange twist.


Black Manhattan

2 oz Rye

1 oz Meletti Amaro

3-5 dashes Angostura bitters

Stir ingredients with ice, strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with bourbon cherry or orange twist.


Hanky Panky

2 oz London Dry Gin

1 oz Meletti Amaro

.25 oz Meletti Fernet

 

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass. Stir with ice, and strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with orange twist.


Italian Summer Shandy

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz Gin

1 oz Lemon Juice

¾ oz Simple Syrup

3 Ginger Coins

3 oz Italian Light Beer

 

In a shaker, muddle ginger in simple syrup. Add all other ingredients except for beer and top with ice. Shake for 15 seconds or until chilled—strain into a pilsner glass over fresh ice and top with beer. Garnish with a slice of fresh ginger and enjoy!


La Llorona

.75 oz Meletti Amaro

.75 oz mezcal

.75 oz Yellow Chartreuse

.75 fresh lime juice

.25 oz crème de cacao

3 dashes mole bitters

 

Add all ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


La Marche Negroni

1 oz gin

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz Meletti 1870 Aperitivo

 

Stir with ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Flame expressed orange peel over drink.


Mezzo Giorno

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz gin

1 oz sweet vermouth

1 slice cucumber (for garnish)

 

Pour ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Stir to combine and garnish with cucumber.


Midnight Sun

1 oz Meletti Amaro
1 oz Meletti Fernet
1 oz Fig Infused Vodka
1 oz Fresh Orange Juice

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and top with ice. Stir until chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with a dried citrus wheel and enjoy!


Oaxacan Negroni

1 oz Del Maguey Vida Mezcal

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz Meletti 1870 Aperitivo

 

Add ingredients into shaker with ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange twist.


Paper Plane

.75 oz bourbon

.75 oz Meletti 1870

.75 oz Meletti Amaro

.75 oz lemon juice

 

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass or a small rocks glass. Garnish with lemon twist.


Rosé Outlook

3 oz dry rose wine

1 oz Meletti Amaro

.5 oz orange liquor

Dash of rose water/syrup

Hibiscus flower optional (for garnish)

 

Pour ingredients over ice in a rocks or wine glass. Garnish with lemon twist.


Sardinian Iced Tea

4 oz LaLuca Prosecco

1 oz Meletti Amaro

.5 oz lime juice

 

Pour into highball with ice. Garnish with lime wheel.


St. Kitts Palmetto

2 oz Shipwreck Spiced Rum

1 oz Meletti Amaro

5 dashes orange bitters

Stir in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange twist.


That Drink I Had One Time

1 oz Meletti Amaro

1 oz Dry Amontillado Sherry

.5 oz London Dry Gin

.25 oz St. Elisabeth Allspice Dram

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Lemon twist

 

Add ingredients into mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with lemon twist.


The Brooklyn

2 oz Bourbon or Rye

1 oz Meletti Amaro

4-5 dashes of Angostura bitters.

 

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange twist or bourbon cherry.


The Dandy

1 oz Bourbon

1 oz Gran Classico

1 oz Meletti Amaro

3 dashes orange bitters

 

Add all ingredients into shaker with ice and stir to combine. Strain into cocktail glass or rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with orange or lemon twist.

1 oz Shipwreck Coconut Rum Cream

.5 oz Meletti Amaro

Club soda

 

Pour into rocks glass with ice, stir lightly to combine. Top with 2 oz club soda.
