Campo del Gal Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
Universally recognized as one of Italy’s most prestigious red wines, La Colombaia Amarone is produced from a single-vineyard parcel of hand-selected grapes that are left to dry for 3-4 months prior to fermentation. This process leads to a very concentrated wine with full-bodied and intense aromas of ripe red berries and raisined fruit. Bold flavors of dark fruit lend a velvety texture that leads to the spice and licorice tinged finish. The wine is subsequently aged in French and Slavonian oak for 3 years before bottling and aging an additional 12 months. A great match with game, hearty red meats, and aged charcuterie.

Displays aromas of fresh, ripe black cherry fruit with notes of licorice, violets and wet earth. The black cherry carries through on the palate with hints of cassis and chocolate. Reveals good acidity balanced with hints of oak upfront, a medium plus body and a hint of pleasant bitterness in the finish. A modern style of Amarone with a clean and slightly warm finish. Drinking nice now but will knit together with some age.
