Chardonnay
Monteverro Chardonnay is bursting with sweet aromas of pear, honey, vanilla, apricot, and white chocolate. It is balanced by mild notes of white truffles and roasted nuts. The first sips are fresh revealing enticing stone fruit and citrus flavors of white peach and blood orange; the wine quickly evolves to showcase a complex white with excellent minerality and a lingering finish with hints of candied orange peel and marzipan. The wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation on fine lees and is then aged in 30% new French oak barrels and 70% egg-shaped concrete tanks for 14 months.

…a subtle, nicely balanced wine. Hints of almond, dried pear, smoke, slate and apricot wrap around the soft, open-knit finish. Drink this soft, mid-weight Chardonnay over the next year or two.

A complex white of such depth and texture with beautiful honey, mineral and sliced-apple character. Hints of toasted oak. Full and super-refined. Very long. Intense. Subtle. Like a premier cru Puligny-Montrachet. This is clearly now in the echelon of the best whites. Drink or hold.

The 2010 Chardonnay is fermented in egg-shaped concrete tanks and 30% of the wine sees new French oak. There’s a toasted note of baked bread or almond that sets off the complex bouquet. Aromas later open to peach, apricot, exotic fruit, honeysuckle, vanilla and spice. This is a sophisticated and impeccable wine with the pedigree of an important, oak-aged Chardonnay from the New World. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020.

This creamy Tuscan Chardonnay shares many characteristics with its distant cousin in California. It shows a decidedly New World style, with aromas of vanilla cream, dried apricot, honey, peach cobbler and crème brûlée. The finish is marked with a spicy toasted-oak intensity.
