Rosso di Montalcino DOC
The wine’s bouquet shows dark cherry, spice, and cured meat aromas that gently envelope the palate. There’s a savory note that combines with vibrant red fruits and dried flowers lending a long finish. It’s a noteworthy wine with budding sophistication available at a very attractive price point. Produced from some of the estate’s younger vines, and aged for 12 months in large Slavonian botte before resting for an additional 3 months in bottle. Pairs well with roasted game birds, truffle pasta, and sharp aged cheeses. Drink now or over the next 5 years.

Sexy aromas of dark plum, flinty black cherry and brown spices are complicated by funky notes of earth and underbrush. Sweet, fresh and concentrated, displaying terrific lift to the intense flavors of raspberry, sandalwood and minerals. Finishes impressively long, with noble tannins and above-average precision and focus. This Rosso’s almost cool-climate style speaks of the cooler northern location of Ridolfi’s vineyards, which help to counter the effects of the hot vintage.

“…dark cherry, spice and cured meat aromas that wrap gently over the palate. There’s a savory note as well that recalls the kind of seasoning and chopped herb combinations you might use to marinate meat. It’s a noteworthy wine with budding sophistication available at a very attractive price point.”
