Sinarra
Sinarra, meaning “to tell a story,” recounts a beautiful expression of Sangiovese cultivated in the Maremma Toscana. Fruit-forward with fresh notes of blackberries and blueberries, and herbaceous notes. A full-bodied, perfectly balanced red aged in cement vats for 6 months, then cellared for an additional 6. The perfect conversation-starter, the Etruscan alphabet adorns the label – the base of communication.

…plump, juicy and expressive. Sweet red cherry, plum, iron, tobacco, wild flowers and spices meld together nicely. Drink this forward, open-knit Sangiovese over the next few years.

This is very focused and clean with dark fruits such as blueberries. Full body, firm tannins and a clean, fresh finish. Better after 2015.

Bright aromas of red cherry, redcurrant, flint, licorice and herbs. Fresh, silky and precise on the front half, showing a strong element of sweet spices, then a bit more muscular and austere on the back. This bright, lovely wine finishes with a touch of youthful dryness, but ought to make a splendid match for most tomato-based pasta dishes.

The 2012 Sinarra (Sangiovese) is quite pretty. Sweet tobacco, dried flowers and red stone fruits flesh out in a beautifully layered, expressive wine. In 2012, the Sinarra has a lot going for it, yet the style remains very much understated.

Decanter - Commended
Classic Sangiovese characters with extraction, concentration, yet finesse too. Dry and savory, and good value.

The estate’s 2011 Sinarra (Sangiovese) is an explosive wine. Dark red cherries, underbrush, tobacco, mint and anise meld together in a rich wine that expresses plenty of 2011 power. The tannins could use just a little more polish. Otherwise, this a gorgeous wine. Sinarra is mostly Sangiovese with a splash of Petit Verdot.

Smokier and deeper… Underbrush and herb aromas and flavors dominate here. Offers greater texture and sweetness…, with comparable length of flavor.

Dark red. Raspberry, cassis, dusty herbs and menthol on the nose. Nicely sweet, firm and juicy, with good shape and energy to the flavors of dark berries, underbrush and candied licorice. Finishes with broad, fine-grained tannins, considerable sweetness (a bit of residual sugar, perhaps?) and a strong peppery element.

The 2007 Sinarra (95% Sangiovese, 5% Petit Verdot) is another fabulous wine from Fattoria di Magliano. Here the fruit is darker and more vibrant, while the wine possesses remarkable clarity. The density of the fruit carries through to the long, round finish. Everything is in the right place in this gorgeous red. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015.
